There is CNA training in Tucson at the PIMA Community College’s Northwest campus. The certificate course is called Basic Direct Care Professional and trains students in the area of care giving. Classes are available at daytime, night time or weekends and can be in combination to allow flexibility for its students. Beyond the basics of caring for patients, there are courses to make students familiar with Alzheimers and dementia and developmental disabilities to further prepare them for actual situations. Tucson College has a diploma course for certified nursing assistants. Successful graduates become eligible to sit for the state exam that will pave the way for their working as nursing assistant, home health aide or restorative aide. The Tucson Medical Center has its professional health care education program that prepares employees for the skills and workplace situations.
